Key Duties:

  • As an Attorney-Adviser (General) with DLA, you'll play a vital role in offering legal advice and representation to detachment management and contracting officials on acquisition and contract administration matters.
  • Your responsibilities will include providing counsel on contract formation, contract authority, commercial items, source selection, pricing, and fiscal law.
  • Additionally, you'll represent clients on contract administration issues such as changes, performance, terminations, and contract litigation.
  • Your expertise will extend to advising on civilian labor and employment matters, ethics, fraud, and technical data, ensuring compliance and ethical standards are maintained.
  • You'll also have the opportunity to provide legal representation before various tribunals, including the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Requirements:


  • To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and be an active member in good standing with the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Professional legal experience exceeding 2 years is required for GS-13 level positions, while positions at the GS-14 level require professional legal experience exceeding 3 years, relevant to the duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated analytical and legal abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in procurement and labor/employment law are essential for success in this role.
  • Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance to fulfill job requirements effectively.
